Pruning: we’ll trim dead or damaged branches from trees and shrubs and weeding flowerbeds. This helps encourage new growth and maintains a tidy appearance.

Mulching: We’ll apply a fresh layer of mulch around trees, shrubs, and flower beds. Mulch helps retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate temperature.

Planting

Planting

When to Plant Shrubs?

Shrubs can be planted any time of the year although the most popular time for planting trees and shrubs are in the fall or early spring. In warmer temps. be more attentive that extra

water will be required.

Potted plants are less fussy since the root ball is undisturbed during planting and roots are eager to spread out.

Add a layer on mulch to your new plants:

Mulch acts as a protective barrier, preventing soil-borne diseases from splashing onto the plant during rain or watering. This can be especially beneficial for maintaining the health of young, vulnerable plants.

Give the plant a generous watering, A gallon should be sufficient.

Continue to water every few days until the plant has established. In the summer and warmer weather conditions you may need to water more than once a day.

Aeration & seeding

Aeration and seeding

Aeration: is a process that mechanically  plugs of soil and deposits them on the top of the soil surface. Over time the soil in your lawn becomes compacted, negatively effecting its growth. Compacted soil results in reduced oxygen levels as well as the reduced amount of water that can be absorbed. When the lawn is aerated, cores are removed from the soil; allowing air to circulate, roots to grow deeper, and water to penetrate further.

Over-seeding: First, a thick lawn helps to prevent weeds. Grass slows down its production rate over the years so it’s important to keep a fresh, new crop coming in every year. Second, by continually adding new seed to your lawn you reduce the rate of disease. New seed varieties are continually grown to be disease resistant, keeping your lawn healthy and looking great.

When to do it?

Cool-Season Grasses: Early fall is optimal, allowing new grass to establish before winter and benefit from the cooler temperatures.

Warm-Season Grasses: Late spring to early summer when these grasses are entering their active growth phase.
